But, what do you do with the valentines you're given? This craft project is the answer to that question...and, hopefully, is something that will make your heart flutter!
You will need: a wooden board, wooden heart, pink paint, red paint, red glitter, "is all you need" vinyl lettering, clothes pins, white wood glue, scrapbook paper, glue gun, embellishments (i.e. buttons, craft jewels, ribbon, stickers, etc.) Note: Most items may be purchased at The Wood Connection!
1.) Paint your board pink.
2.) Paint the wooden heart red. Add glitter and spray it with a sealant.
3.) When the wooden pieces are dry, glue them together and add the vinyl lettering. (Love is all you need, my friends!)
4.) The fun part! Embellishing your clothes pins!
Take five clothes pins (or however many you'd like to do) and trace them onto V-Day themed scrapbook paper. Cut the paper out and glue it to the clothes pins with white wood glue.
When they are dry, decorate them with pearls, craft jewels, ribbon, buttons...whatever you want. Go nuts! Be creative! Have fun!
5.) Using your hot glue gun, glue your pretty clothes pins to your board.
(A close-up of some of my pins, because they're DARLING!)
6.) Lastly, hang your board! The Wood Connection is wonderful because they are able to help you with all your "hanging needs." Whether you need holes drilled into your wood, or metal picture hooks to attach to your project, they will take care of you. (Because they are really nice like that!)
Once you've hung your board, clip your Valentine's Day cards into the clothes pins and display them as part of your February decor. Isn't that neat?!
As always, a big THANK YOU to the Wood Connection for allowing me this opportunity to guest post! And of course, thank you, Wood Connection, for being my Valentine. You make my heart sing! The Wood Connection has generously donated a $25 gift certificate to be given to one lucky "Mama Leisha" reader. Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Crafting!
