Hi everyone!
It's Rita from Pink Polka Dot Creations here today.
I am so excited to be here today at the Wood Connection. They are one of my favorite places to visit, they have so many cute ideas and the staff are so nice and friendly that it is just a fun place to be! So thank you for having me today!
I have a fun project from the Wood Connection for you to do:
Since monograms are still so popular, I decided to do this big key holder. I think that this looks like something from Restoration Hardware, with the silver washers covering the monogram!
Here is how I made it:
First paint your monogram letter with a silver metallic paint. I gave it 2 good coats. Let it dry.
Lay all of your washers out on your letter with the varying sizes. (It will take several packages of washers, I think I used about 3 packages each of 4 different sizes.) When you get them how you want it to be then glue the washers on with E-6000 glue and I let that dry overnight.
While that was drying I painted my board with 2 coats of paint, sanded the edges, then added a coat of brush on varnish. I also marked the holes where the screws would go.
Next, add 3 big screws for the key holders. I love the look of the big screws with the washers!
You might want to put the washers into your board and then take them out again before you paint it. That way you can sand the edges off a little bit around the holes.
Hang on the wall and you are good to go!
Such an easy project and I love that you can get most of the supplies at the Wood Connection!
I would love to have you visit me at Pink Polka Dot Creations, or on Facebook, or Pinterest! Hope to see you soon!
Way to go Rita!!! I love it.
