All Things Ali

Hello Crafters! Ali Here. I am so excited about this month's post. I recently just moved into a new house and I have been so anxious to make it cute! I love quotes, and wanted to find a way to tie one into my family room. I came up with this random idea, and I love how it turned out. 

Lets get started!

I wanted my quote to have random letters and a few abstract objects. So, when I browsed through The Wood Connection I picked out my favorite letters from different alphabets, chose two different sized photo blocks, a wreath & circle cut outs. I was able to get everything I used for my project-wood & embellishments all from The Wood Connection.I LOVE that it is a one stop shop!

After choosing my color scheme, I mixed my paints together to create the perfect colors to match my family room. (I mixed bright colors with Trail Tan to create a soft, neutral color.)  From there, it was simple & easy to paint the letters & objects. 

For the 8x10 photo block, I painted it tan & had my cousin Sara Jane hand paint the letter J onto it. We did the same thing with the on a 4x6 photo block & the circles for the banner. 

After everything was painted, we took twine to connect the circles together to make a banner. I wanted the circles to touch, so we used washy tape on the back to make them stick together.

 

I LOVE how it turned out! You can do absolutely any saying you can think of just by searching through The Wood Connection & finding different letters & wood pieces that go well together.
