Mama Leisha Guest Post

I adore Easter!  New Easter dresses, chocolate bunnies, Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies...I love it all!  With Easter just around the corner, I knew I needed something "springy" and bright and fun for my home's holiday decor.

For this "hoppin'" projects you will need:  ribbon, scrapbook paper, two wooden bunnies, paint (Tahiti Blue), fabric, wooden board, white wood glue, wooden letters to spell "hop," and a glue gun.  Note:  I found all my supplies at The Wood Connection, minus the fabric.)

1.)  Paint your letters that yummy shade of turquoise!

2.)  While your letters dry, trace the wooden bunnies on scrapbook paper.  Cut the paper out and adhere it to the bunnies with the white wood glue.

3.)  When the bunnies are dry, embellish them with the ribbon.

4.)  Iron your fabric if needed.  Lay it out on a flat surface and place your board on top.  "Wrap" your board like a present, securely attaching the fabric to the board with your hot glue gun.

5.)  THE FUN PART!  Putting all the pieces together.  Position the bunnies and the letters, however you want them, on the board.  Use a hot glue gun to glue them into place.

And that's it!  You are done!  EASY PEASY!  (Almost as easy as eating a chocolate bunny!)  I used an easel to display my board.  I love how the project turned out!

A big, "Easter basket" full of THANKS to The Wood Connection for allowing me this opportunity to guest post.  My Wood Connection projects make my springtime more sunny and bright!  Be sure to "hop" by their store!  The Wood Connection has generously donated a $25 gift certificate to be given to one lucky "Mama Leisha" reader.  For details on how to enter the contest, please visit "She Calls Me Mama Leisha," at http://callmemamaleisha.com.

Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!

  1. I love this...does it matter if you use acrylic or oil based paint with this primer?
