What Our Crew Would- Melissa

Hi everyone! This is Melissa with my first project for “What Our Crew Would Do”.  I’m excited to show you how to make Christmas Box Signs, which will add some Christmas spirit to your walls.

Wood Connections Supplies:
3 – 12”x12” Box Signs
3 – Sheets of Scrapbook Paper
3 - “H” Modern Letters
3 - “O” Modern Letters
Paint – Light Ivory, Dark Foliage Green, and Barn Red
Sponge Brushes
Wood Glue
Sanding Block
Brown Inker

The first thing to do is paint one box sign and one set of the letters (HO) each light ivory, dark foliage green and barn red.

Once the box signs and letters are dry, take the sanding block and sand the edges off the letters.

The letters should look like this after the sanding….

Next trim the scrapbook paper to 12”x12” size.

Then take wood glue and made a thin layer on the top of the Box Sign.  Use a sponge brush to spread it around.  Once it has a thin layer, gently place the paper on the Box Sign and press to make sure it is smooth.   Let the glue set.

To give the box signs a more rustic look, use a Brown Inker and stamp the Box Sign and Letters around all the edges.

Now it’s time to glue the Letters on the Box Signs. I decided to use different colored Letters on different papers.  Just use the wood glue and stick them on.

Let everything dry for a good amount of time before setting them upright.

I love using the Box Signs to decorate.  They make a statement without a whole lot of work.   Here they are!!!

WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.
