Pink Polka Dot Creations Guest Post

Hello to all you Wood Connection Fans. This is Rita from Pink Polka Dot Creations and I am happy to be here again to show you a fun project that I made just in time for Christmas!

A darling Whimsical Christmas Frame.
I started with the 11 x 14 frame and I randomly stamped circles with white paint,

Using a small Play-Doh container, but you can use any thing that is a 2 inch circle.

Then I painted and glittered the whole frame green. I had to do this in sections, so that the paint would not dry before I got the glitter on. Just paint a nice thick, even coat of paint and sprinkle the glitter onto it while the paint is still wet. Let the paint dry good, and do at least 3 light coats of spray varnish to keep the glitter from falling off.

The next thing I did was to paint and glitter two different sizes of wooden "nickles", they have all of these supplies at the Wood Connection, so it is a one-stop shop to get everything that you need for this project!

I devised a way to paint and glitter these little dots without making a complete total mess!

1. Put some Handi-Tak on the end of a straw

2. Stick it to one of the wooden nickles.

3. Paint and glitter the dots and put in a cup with rice (the rice keeps it from tipping over and hold them apart, so they don't touch) let them dry.

4. Spray them with varnish-3 light coats to hold the glitter.

Then you simply glue them on with wood glue and let them dry really well. I sprayed one more coat of varnish over the entire project!

Don't you just love all that glitter! Does that not remind you of Christmas in Whoville?

Insert the glass and the printable and you are done!
So does anyone else want to make a fun Whimsical Christmas Frame?
