The Happy Scraps Guest Post

Hi, Amy here from The Happy Scraps! I'm so excited to be here again today sharing a fun idea with you! It's that time of year where we all are starting to think about Christmas gifts, Christmas decor, etc. One thing that my family has been thinking about is who we are going to do the 12 Days of Christmas for this year. My kids get so excited about this tradition.

The Wood Connection has the perfect item to use for the 12 Days of Christmas! This fun Silhouette Nativity! It has just the right amount of pieces. The way I finished this one was really easy. You can get all of your supplies, right from The Wood Connection when you pick up your project.

I painted everything but the star, with Delta Creamcoat Charcoal color (this is also something that my kids enjoyed helping with, they love painting) and then distressed it. For the star, I painted it gray and added silver glitter, then glued it to the manger. Once everything was painted I sealed it with a spray sealer (which also adds a nice finish, with a slight shine to it). I think the ribbon adds a nice touch as well. Once you have your Nativity all ready, you can wrap each piece up in cellophane and tie with ribbon or rafia and you are ready to start your 12 Days of Christmas. For the first day we print up the story of Christ's birth, roll it up tied with a ribbon, and leave that on the door step.
The second day we take the manger and the star. My kids think it is so fun to ring the door bell and run!
For the next four days it's the Shepherd, sheep, donkey, and camel.

Followed by the three wise men.
Now it's time for Joseph and then Mary.
On Christmas Eve, baby Jesus is the delivery to the doorstep.

This Silhouette Nativity is such a simple, fun, and cute way to do the 12 Days of Christmas, and when you are done, who ever you do it for has a wonderful Christmas decoration to keep for years to come.
I hope you've enjoyed this idea, and I would love to have you come by The Happy Scraps and say hi and enter to win a $25 Gift Certificate to The Wood Connection!
