What Our Crew Would Do- Natalie

Hey there crafters, Natalie here! I'm so excited to share with you my "newlywed home decor ideas." I got married three months ago and I've been having a blast turning our apartment into a home, and what better place to do that than the Wood Connection. This is what i came up with! Today I'm going to show you a tutorial for what I call the "Forever & Always Box Sign".

I know it may sound a little cheesy, but the phrase "Forever & Always" is something my husband and I say to each other all the time. That is why I wanted to create this box sign. Here is how i did it...

First: Gather your supplies
Wood Connection Supplies:
12X12 Box Sign- $6.95
Wood Glue- $1.99- $2.99
Sponge Brush- $.29

Other Supplies:
White spray paint (Home Depot)- $3.87
Wood Letters (Hobby Lobby)- $.99 each
Tape
Measuring Tape/Ruler

Next, sand the wood letters creating smooth sides and edges.

The next step I found to be the trickiest. Depending on the phrase you want to use, measure the box sign accordingly to ensure the words are centered and spaced evenly. Measure where you want the bottom of the wood letter to be. Put a strip of tape down to create a straight line/guide as you glue the letters to the box sign.

Once you have you're strip of tape down start gluing your first word to the box sign. Use a sponge brush to spread the wood glue evenly.

Continue to measure, tape, and glue. Once you are done gluing, wait 10-15 min to ensure the wood glue is fully dry.

Next, use the white spray paint to spray over the entire box sign. I did 4 coats total. Make sure to only apply a thin coat each time. Let it dry for 15-20 min before applying the next coat.

And before you know it... you've just created the cutest box sign ever!

I'll be posting another newlywed decor idea for my next "What Our Crew Would Do" post next month so be sure to come back and visit our blog soon. Thanks for stopping by.
