Every Creative Endeavor Guest Post

Hey everyone! I am Amanda from Every Creative Endeavor and I am super excited to be here at the Wood Connection today sharing a fun project! Currently I am working on switching up and decorating bedrooms for my daughter and my son – because we are adding a new baby boy to our family in a couple weeks! After looking over all the fun items the Wood Connection has in stock – and narrowing it down – I finally settled on a few of their fun new frames and monograms!

As you know, all their wood comes completely raw and we get to fix it up anyway we want!! But the best part, is that they have everything you need available in their store to help you – like paint, scrapbook paper, ribbon, embellishments and more!

For the letters I picked a Q and Z since those are my boys initials. They are 16 1/2 inches tall.

I used an orange and green paint color that matches the fabric in their rooms and painted the edges of the letters. Then I simply Mod Podged the darling polka dot paper onto the wood. I was thrilled they had polka dot paper because it matches their bedding perfectly! I used two pieces of paper per letter and lined them up so you can’t even see the seam. They turned out darling.

For the frames I wanted a more masculine feel so I went with the “Kelly” Frame. I picked up three of them and using spray paint – painted them in coordinating colors. The frames are made of MDF so they soak up spray paint like crazy on the edges so you need a few coats. If you pick a toll paint you will only need a coat or two – with so many colors in spray paint and toll paint and so many fun frames – there are so many fun possibilities!

I figured out the arrangement I wanted by laying the finished projects on the floor and then nailed them into the wall. The frames are awesome and have holes to hang them landscape or portrait and even come with a little dowel that will hold the frame up if you want to use it as a table top frame instead – I love that! The letters don’t have any holes to hang them so I simply used small nails and hung the letters on them.

I love this fun wall and cannot wait for our little baby to get here so I can get those frames filled up!! Gallery walls are pretty popular right now so head on over to the Wood Connection and grab your funky/fun frames to start one for your home!!

Thanks so much for having me today and I would love if you would stop by my Blog – Every Creative Endeavor – to see what other fun projects I have been working on!!
